Leave it to Beyonce’ to once again make a statement to her fans and the world through unforgettable, bold statements. Queen Bey showed up to the VMAs with an entourage of 30— including artist Ingrid, her daughter Blue Ivy, Winnie Harlow and The Mothers of The Movement. They made a huge statement as they graced the red carpet in style, class and undeniable strength!

The mothers included Lezley McSpadden, Gwen Carr, Wanda Johnson and Sybrina Fulton. These women are the mothers of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Oscar Grant and Trayvon Martin — young men who’ve all been unjustly gunned down, either by a police or by people who are still able to walk the streets of this country.

According to The Huffington Post, Beyonce’s “Lemonade” was nominated for 11 VMAs. Of course we’ve also seen these mothers in the “Lemonade” project, letting us known that the masterpiece was not only about a broken heart— it was about our fallen Black men as well.

Thank you Queen Bey for using your platform in order to let our deceased Black men live on for ages to come.
