HOUSTON—Socially conscious teens are trying to make a difference, with a little help from the arts, in Houston. The Boniuk Center for Religious Tolerance at Rice University in partnership with the Museum of Cultural Arts Houston (MOCAH) will work alongside a diverse group of teens to create a vision board- turned public art mural-promoting religious tolerance on Sunday, January 8.
The mural is the capstone project for The Boniuk Center’s 2nd Annual Sacred Sites Quest (SSQ II), a program for high school students that aims to enhance religious literacy, while promoting interfaith dialogue.
Teens will work alongside The Boniuk Center staff and MOCAH artists to create a mural that answers the question, “What does a religious and culturally tolerant society look like?”
The event will be held at the MOCAH Studios 908 Wood St. Suite #150 from 2:30 to 5 p.m.
