This week, hip hop veteran Jay-Z has been ruling the air waves and social media world with the hint of his new album, 4:44.
4:44 marks the thirteenth solo studio album and is the first album in a planned series of music exclusives between a Sprint-Tidal partnership. It is entirely produced by NO I.D. as well as features additional production with Jay-Z, Frank Ocean, Damian Marley and Beyonce.
On the new album, Jay reveals many kept secrets from the power couple’s marriage that were specifically (but not directly) mentioned on Beyonce’s smash controversial visual album, Lemonade.
“‘4:44’ is a song that I wrote, and it’s the crux of the album, just right in the middle of the album. And I woke up, literally, at 4:44 in the morning, 4:44 a.m., to write this song,” he told iHeartRadio’s The Beat in an exclusive interview. “So it became the title of the album and everything. It’s the title track because it’s such a powerful song, and I just believe one of the best songs I’ve ever written.”

“And if my children knew, I don’t even know what I would do / If they ain’t look at me the same, I would prolly die with all the shame / You did what with who? What good is a ménage à trois when you have a soulmate, you risked that for Blue?
Jay-Z even dropped a few gems from a few controversial moments in his career, such as the infamous elevator fight between the rapper and his sister-in-law, Solange, on “Kill Jay-Z”; the rocky patch in he and Bey’s marriage that he addresses on the title track; as well as his riff with friend, Kanye West.
It’s safe to say that Hov may have a possible multi-platinum album in his hands.
