George Zimmerman just won’t quit, or so it seems. He is now asking Florida, the stand-your-ground state that upheld his “legal” killing of Trayvon Martin to reimburse him as much as $300,000 for attorney fees he racked up during trial, according to reports.
Zimmerman’s defense team believe they should be given the money after the “Neighborhood Watch” patrolman was acquitted of shooting the 17-year-old boy, who was only armed with an iced tea and a bag of skittles, on a dark night in February 2012.
Trayvon’s death sparked a national outcry for justice, with many saying the case was nothing more than racial profiling and discrimination because Zimmerman allegedly felt the hoodie-wearing kid looked suspicious and did not belong in his neighborhood. But Zimmerman claimed during the trial that HE was the victim, merely defending himself from the boy who got upset because he was being followed.
We’ll wait to see if Florida will give Zimmerman another blessing.
