PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — We all are a little cautious about what’s lurking around out there in the deep blue sea..and the swamps for that matter.. but it seems we all need to start worrying about could be chilling in the pools in our backyards, especially if you live in the South.

We’ve seen plenty of huge alligators surfacing in Texas neighborhoods, and a Florida couple also had an unwelcome visitor that stopped by to pay them a visit, and relax in their pool.

Thankfully, the big gator was spotted before anyone took a dip.

The homeowners, Craig and Laura Lear, live near a golf course and thought that the “bubbling” they saw in the water was from a stray ball.  Nope, it was from a living, breathing, 9-foot alligator. Yikes!

They called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and a trapper came out and pulled it out of the water.

By the way, the trapper was bare feet, as you can see in the video.

All we can say is, look before you leap.  A gator could be cooling off in your pool.

As for the gator, it has been reported that it was euthanized.
