HOUSTON – To fill more than 1,100 seasonal positions, the YMCA of Greater Houston will hold a Job Fair at all of its Houston area locations from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 14. Positions available include lifeguards, swim instructors, day camp counselors and overnight camp counselors. Interviews will be conducted at the Job Fair.
This is a great opportunity for high school or college students to gain valuable workforce experience while impacting the lives of children in the community.
“If students are looking for a job where they can make a difference in their community, the YMCA is the ideal place,” said Jennifer Lopez, Vice President of Human Resources for the YMCA of Greater Houston. “At the Y, our staff members are able to gain valuable work experience while enriching the lives of children by helping them grow and develop.”
Basic requirements:
- Lifeguard – Minimum age of 16, strong swimming skills, lifeguard certifications
- Swim Instructor – Minimum age of 16, strong swimming skills, swim instructor certifications
- Day Camp Counselor – Minimum age of 18, passion for working with kids
- Resident Camp Counselor – Minimum age of 18, passion for working with kids
Applicants must bring a resume and completed application, which can be obtained in the lobby on the day of the fair.
