“Don’t Worry, Be Happy!” ….There are people that walk this Earth every day unhappy, spewing vibes of negative energy, and you can see it in their demeanor by the way they look, talk and most importantly, how they treat others.
Perhaps they may have been through a series of tragic events that may have caused their view of joy to be distorted. Or maybe they have been jilted by life and didn’t know how to bounce back.
However, we’ve all had our experiences when life hands you lemons and if you allow it, it can steal your joy. I hope the clever people put emphasis on the try part. This is solely because, well, that’s what it’s intended to do. It’s a test, or a chess game if you will.
Every day you wake up, you face the opportunity to be “tried.” To be tested and have your buttons pushed, your boundaries crossed and maybe even your intelligence insulted.
Nevertheless, you are in control of your actions which means you can choose to wallow in it, or handle the situation gracefully and move on to the next. There is a quote by Charles L. Swindoll that says, “Life is 10 percent of what happens to me, and 90 percent of how I react to it.”
I believe this to be very true. In life, you are going to have challenges, but you can’t let them defeat you.
Growth comes in adversity and if you never struggle, you will never be able to unlock the levels to reach your fullest potential.
It’s important to keep your eye on the rainbow when you’re going through the storm. People tend to get lost in the cross fire and before they know it, they’re off in the deep end and instead of speaking positivity over their situatio, they decided to let it worry and consume them. That leads to stress and as we all know, is very unhealthy for you!
It’s extremely important for us to overcome, if we fall; get up! If we fail; try again!
The point is “don’t worry, be happy!” When you’re happy and in a good mood, it just seems like nothing can bother you. You tend to make lemonade when life hands you lemons.
Negativity can literally block your love, light blessings and your nervous system according to a Harvard study.
“A vast scientific literature has detailed how negative emotions harm the body. Serious, sustained stress or fear can alter biological systems in a way that, over time, adds up to “wear and tear” and, eventually, illnesses such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. Chronic anger and anxiety can disrupt cardiac function by changing the heart’s electrical stability, hastening atherosclerosis, and increasing systemic inflammation,” says Jack P. Shonkoff, Julius B. Richmond FAMRI Professor of Child Health and Development at HSPH and at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Professor at Harvard Medical School.
How about that? Living under stress, fear and anger can lead to major health issues in the body. Now yes, happiness comes from within but your surroundings play a major part as well.
According to the researchers, here are some keys to live a happier, healthy life.
Research suggests that certain personal attributes—whether inborn or shaped by positive life circumstances—help some people avoid or healthfully manage diseases such as heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and depression. These include:
•Emotional vitality: a sense of enthusiasm, hopefulness, engagement
•Optimism: the perspective that good things will happen, and that one’s actions account for the good things that occur in life
•Supportive networks of family and friends
•Being good at “self-regulation,” i.e. bouncing back from stressful challenges and knowing that things will eventually look up again; choosing healthy behaviors such as physical activity and eating well; and avoiding risky behaviors such as unsafe sex, drinking alcohol to excess, and regular overeating
So there you have it..stop worrying so much. And drinks lots of happy lemonade!
