CHARLOTTE, N.C.—R &B crooner Anthony Hamilton was arrested Sunday morning, according to WCNC.com.
The singer’s mugshot was featured on the news station’s website in a slideshow for “Mecklenburg Mugs” which listed 46 other people arrested that day.
Hamilton’s charge was listed as Driving While Impaired. According to reports, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police took him in for the DWI after they pulled him over for speeding.
Hamilton, who is from the Charlotte area, is known for his soulful, sultry voice and down-to-earth “70s throwback” persona. His songs include Best of Me, Charlene and Cool. He also wrote the song “Freedom” which was featured on Django Unchained.
