Kia Patterson is making history by opening the first Black-owned grocery store in Compton, California.

According to thegrio.com, Patterson, the owner and operator of “The Grocery Outlet,” hopes that her outlet will provide a way to bring organic food options to people at more affordable prices.

Patterson has worked in the industry before, but set her eyes on starting her own outlet promoting healthy eating to residents in the area.

If you’re in the area, stop by and support her at “The Grocery Outlet” at 2175 W. Rosecrans Ave Compton, Ca. 90220.

Way to go sistah!
