Annette Charles, who played Cha Cha DiGregorio in the 1978 movie “Grease,” died Wednesday night in her Los Angeles home, according to TMZ. She was 63 years old.
Sources said the famous scene-stealing dancer passed away due to complications from cancer and only learned of her condition just a few months ago.
“Annette had recently started having difficulty breathing, and when she went to the doctor she learned that she had a cancerous tumor in one of her lungs,” a family member said.
The family is planning to release a full statement within the next 24 hours.
No one can forget how she “stole the show” performing her great dance routine with John Travolta for the high school dance.
We would like to play it again in her honor, but she will always remain a part of pop culture history.
