First Lady Michelle Obama has postponed a Democratic fundraising trip to Houston, according to event organizers. She was supposed to come to town for a fundraiser Tuesday, but organizers said the trip was canceled due to a family scheduling conflict.
“We look forward to her next visit and cannot thank you enough for all of your hard work. Further information will be forthcoming,” organizers said.
The first lady was scheduled to be the key speaker at a reception at the Westin Oaks Galleria. After that, a Houston Chronicle blog reports she was to attend a private reception and dinner at the home of John Arnold, a Houston billionaire and former natural gas trader for Enron, and his wife, Laura.
