A huge congratulations is in order for gold medalist Gabby Douglas. On Monday morning, she took to Instagram to express her excitement for the debut of her bendable Barbie Doll.
She posted, “I am so excited to announce that you can now have your very own Gabby Douglass @Barbie doll, what an honor! Get yours now!! Link in bio #YouCanBeAnything #Barbie
Douglas is the first African American to become the individual all around champion and she is also the first U.S. gymnast to win gold in both the individual all-around and team competition at the same Olympics.

The Gabby Douglas Barbie joined the Shero Barbie Collection, which ties into a larger campaign for Mattel called the “You Can Be Anything” campaign. The campaign launched in October and was created to inspire and encourage young girls, stressing that they can be in any profession when they grow up. The Shero Barbie Collection also includes other trailblazing African American women, including Ava Du Vernay and Misty Copeland.
