Mitt Romney ruffled a lot of feathers when he said he would end government funding of PBS during a debate with President Obama.  Well, in response to that threat, Big Bird made his debut in an ad against the Republican nominee.

“Bernie Madoff, Ken Lay….criminals, gluttons of greed and the evil genius who towered above them?  One man has the guts to speak his name,” the ad said.  And who is the culprit?  Non other than Big Bird!

“Big, yellow, a menace to our economy.  Mitt Romney knows it’s not Wall Street you have to worry about, it’s Sesame Street,” the ad continued.

The Obama campaign released the ad Tuesday morning, but Sesame Street is calling for them to take it down.

“Sesame Workshop is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns. We have approved no campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down,” company officials said in a statement released on the website.

Oh well, sometimes campaigns get nasty and sometimes are funny.  Play nice gentlemen!
