They say all is fair in love and war, and apparently the weapon of choice is up for grabs, too. A Popeye’s employee is facing a felony domestic violence charge for attempting to attack her girlfriend with a sex toy, according to a police report obtained by the smokinggun.com.
The Bradenton Police Department received an aggravated assault with a knife call, but instead of finding a sharp and pointed weapon when they arrived, they found something long and hard, instead. But hey….a weapon is a weapon, right?
The victim, 23-year-old Tamera Cadet told police her she was arguing with her 21-year-old girlfriend, Jantavia Taylor, when Taylor grabbed a knife and began to chase her.
Cadet told police the two ran out of the couple’s home and a knife-wielding Taylor chased her for almost a block before stopping.
But Taylor told police a different tale. Yes, the couple argued; yes there was a chase; but no, there was no knife involved. Taylor said she was armed with the couple’s sex toy, aka “dildo”, aka “strap-on” and threw it after her girlfriend.
Police searched for the weapon in question and, sure enough, found it outside!
According to the police report, “The sex toy was located across the street in the yard of another residence.” Officer Joshua Small categorized the weapon used in the alleged domestic assault as “other.”
Taylor was then arrested and booked into the Manatee County Jail.
All we can say is …………….oh well, (big sigh) and shake our head.
