During New York Fashion Week, Lane Bryant took over New York City with its new campaign “#PlusIsEqual.”
Correction……….
Lane Bryant’s curvy divas didn’t just take over Times Square during the runway show, they OWNED it! The show included guest speaker and celebrity fashion stylist Brad Goreski, and TV personality Wendy Williams.
The plus-size lingerie line featured a two-page spread in Vogue’s September issue. The silhouette highlighted six models, Ashley Graham, Precious Victoria Lee, Candice Huffine, Sabina Karlsson, Georgia Pratt and Justine Legault flaunting the Fall 2015 collection.
Now this isn’t just any campaign, but a movement supporting women of all body types who have struggled with insecurities, or who have been discriminated against. The company said on its website, “67% of US women are size 14 to 34. But they’re underrepresented on billboards, magazines, TV…everywhere. We believe all women should be seen and celebrated equally. See what people are saying. Add your voice and join us in calling for equal representation.”
The models also explained the importance of #PlusIsEqual during the collection’s photo-shoot, and how the campaign relates to women all over the world.
“I don’t think it matters what size you are. I think it’s time to represent all kinds of women. Proud, strong, fashion-forward, stylish, super awesome—everyone deserves to be celebrated. No one’s ignoring us anymore,” one feature model said.
