HOUSTON—More than 40,000 Houstonians are expected to turnout for the 18th annual Dancin’ in the Street…Motown & More Revue, a Memorial Day Weekend tradition at Miller Outdoor Theatre.

This year’s soul music spectacular pays homage to musical legends Chaka Khan, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, the Tempting Temptations and many, many more. The production features some of Houston’s most dynamic entertainers and the 23-piece BACEMENT Soul Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Jimmie Walker.

Dancin’ in the Street will also feature performances by American Idol semi-finalist and hometown rising star, Vincent Powell, performing Lenny Williams’ “Cause I Love You,” and more!

Dancin’ in the Street…Motown & More Revue is jointly produced by BACE Productions and One Delta Plaza Educational Center (ODPEC) and sponsored by the City of Houston, through the Miller Theatre Advisory Board and Houston First Corporation. The Greater Southeast Management District, Dancin’ in the Street’s title corporate sponsor, is joined by long-time event sponsors CenterPoint Energy, Men’s Wearhouse, SHAPE Community Center and other media, community and corporate sponsors.

“We’re excited to host the most anticipated community event in our district, celebrating an amazing line-up of historic music icons, in a very momentous time of growth and development of this area,” said Chris Bilton, executive director of the Greater Southeast Management District. “The Greater Southeast Management District’s Dancin’ in the Street…Motown & More Revue has become a signature event for the management district, ensuring continuance of the city’s longstanding celebration of soul music, and its universal and enduring influence on music and culture around the world.”

“The title sponsorship by the Greater Southeast Management District demonstrates a commitment to prioritizing the arts, culture and community in keeping with long-standing tradition, and to preserve the integrity of the production given our challenging economy,” said Dalilah Whitmore, co-producer of BACE Productions.
