Ashley Picco was 24 weeks pregnant when she unexpectedly died in her sleep. Her son, Lennon James Picco, was delivered by emergency C-section.
The newborn’s lack of movement and brain activity was a constnct concern for the doctors and nurses at Loma Linda University Hospital, where the child was receiving the best care possible.
During Ashley’s pregnancy, she said she would often feel her baby moving to music so the father, Chris Picco, asked the hospital if he could bring his guitar to the NICU to play for his son.
They granted him his wish.
Chris Picco played for several hours during the last days of Lennon’s life. Here is one of his moving tributes to his son. Shortly after recording this, Lennon died peacefully in his daddy’s arms.
