Grammy artist Sam Smith has been honored with what he says is the biggest highlight of his career. Smith recently introduced to the world “Writing’s on the Wall,” that will be released by Capitol Records on Sept. 25. Just before Spectre releases its first showing in the UK on Oct. 26. The U.S release date is Nov. 6.

Smith recorded the song in January, which only took him 20 minutes to get down, and producer Barbara Broccoli and director Sam Mendes fell in love.

Smith is the first British man to record the theme song since 1965, featuring Tom Jones for Thunderball. British singer Adele recorded the theme in 2011 for Skyfall.

Smith announced the news on Instagram and Twitter, expressing how grateful he was to take on the project.
