All I can say is this season of the Celebrity Apprentice is beginning with a bang, and one of America’s sweethearts was the first to hear the infamous words “You’re fired” from the Donald.
Keshia Knight Pulliam, Rudy Huxtable of the Cosby Show, stepped up to be project manager on the first task and her not pulling out her big guns was the reason she was sent home.
The team had to sell pies for charity, and of course, they needed some big benefactors to come in and drop thousands on the treats in order to take top prize.
The team thought that Keshia had the biggest papa of all who could give money and pressured her to call her “TV dad” Bill Cosby to ask for a donation.
Keshia felt it would be in poor taste for her to call because, as she explained, the two haven’t spoken on the phone in years.
“I have not talked to Bill Cosby on the phone in I don’t know how long,” Keshia said, fighting back tears. “So for me to pick up the phone, having not talked to you for five years, except for when we run into each other for a Cosby event, I feel that’s not my place to do.”
Of course, the “call your dad” attack was led by non-other than Kenya Moore of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, but Donald Trump seemed to agree.
“I really believe, if you’d called that gentleman he would’ve helped you, even if you hadn’t spoken to him in years. Because you were an amazing team with one of the most successful shows ever. So I think it would’ve been a very good call to make for charity,” Trump said.
He complimented Keshia on her tenacity and passion, even generously donating $25,000 to her charity, but he decided that not reaching out to Bill Cosby was a big mistake and decided to let her go.
Keshia exited the building in “Olivia Pope” style, “giving life” in Louboutins as she became the first to exit stage left.
This season is shaping up to be a huge home run for the show, we can already tell. I think Vivica will reign supreme from the lady’s team but Geraldo Rivera is definitely a leader on the men’s team.
