HOUSTON — Revel in the magnificence of the moon and the joys of harvest as the Children’s Museum of Houston and the Vietnamese Culture and Science Association (VSCA) celebrate the Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival. Learn about Vietnamese and Asian culture through moon-related activities and performances.
SPECIAL EVENTS:
Lion Dancers: Catch Hung Vuong School of Vietnamese doing a traditional lion dance.
Event Time: 10:30 to 11 a.m. in Brown Auditorium.
Vietnamese Storytime: Experience traditional tales during a mini language lesson in Vietnamese.
Event Time: 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in Parent Resource Library.
Costume Workshop: Create your own Mid-Autumn Fest outfit with appropriate cultural guidance.
Event Time: 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in Brown Auditorium.
Costume Contest: See who wins the award for the most creative cultural dress.
Event Time: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Brown Auditorium.
Lavang Lion Dancers: Enjoy a traditional acrobatic dance in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Event Time: 2 p.m. in Brown Auditorium.
Vietnamese Martial Arts: Be amazed when Vovinam Hoa Lu Center students present an exciting demo.
Event time: 3 to 3:15 p.m. in Brown Auditorium.
Lantern Parade: Show off your lantern in a traditional parade with your friends and family.
Event time: 3:30 to 4 p.m. in Brown Auditorium.

- Mid-Autumn Festival Lanterns: Crease, pleat and fold yourself a traditional lantern in
- Face Painting: Get your face painted in celebration of the festival in Alcove.
- Photo Booth: Capture a timeless keepsake in front of a Mid-Autumn backdrop in Alcove.
