HOUSTON- Residents, visitors and foodies alike will delight in the refreshing new flavors and tantalizing dishes from Le Colonial with the launch of Chef Nicole Routhier’s exciting new Spring-Summer dishes this month. Showcasing over eight brand new dishes that feature only the freshest and best seasonal ingredients the warmer months have to offer. In addition, the upstairs lounge will debut a new Social Hour bar bites and cocktail menu for guests looking to casually dine in the lounge.
The refreshing lunch and dinner menu embraces the warmer seasons by incorporating in-season asparagus, spring lamb, mango, peas, wild strawberries, coconut and fresh herbs.
The new dishes include:
- Sup Ga Cay: Spicy coconut soup with sliced chicken breast & Cremini Mushrooms
- Rau Cai Tron Sot Cari: Crunchy salad with green papaya, kohlrabi, red and green cabbage, radishes, bean sprouts and cashews in a spicy red curry dressing
- Nom Do Bien: Vietnamese-style shrimp and mango ceviche with cucumber, served with taro chips
- Sui Cao Chien:Pan-fried chicken or vegetable dumplings, served with scallions, ginger and black vinegar sauce
- Canh Ga Nhoi Thit: Crispy chicken wing, stuffed with minced pork & shiitake mushrooms, served with tamarind lemongrass dipping sauce
- Ca Song Nuong–Simple grilled filet of trout, brushed with a light garlic lemongrass marinade, topped with herb salad
- Suon Cuu Nuong: Coriander-crusted, grilled Australian lamb chops served with a creamy mint sauce and stir-fried Chinese broccoli
- Do Bien Xao Xa Ot:Wok-fired shrimp and scallops with lemongrass, snap peas, onion, bell pepper and jalapeno
- Bo Bit Tet: Pan-seared, Vietnamese-style USDA Prime Ribeye with roasted garlic, cremini mushrooms and basil butter, sliced and served with mesclun green and Vietnamese frites
Le Colonial’s desserts have also received a seasonal upgrade, with a coconut panna cotta topped with macerated strawberries and a brand, new Crème Brulee with crispy caramel crust.
Elegant and relaxed, upstairs in the lounge is the place to see and be seen this season. Starting April 17th, the lounge will introduce a new “Social Hour”, featuring an all-new ($8) bar bites and cocktail program, available Monday– Saturday, from 5-7PM. While enjoying the delights of the new menu, guests may also catch the international sounds of Amin Safari band, who kick-off at 6:30PM every Monday.
New bar bites include the following ($8):
- Banh Mi Sliders: Vietnamese sandwich with chargrilled pork belly, spicy aioli, pickled carrot, cucumber and cilantro on French baguette, served with watercress salad and crispy taro chips
- Canh Ga Nhoi Thit: Crispy chicken wing, stuffed with minced pork & shiitake mushrooms, served with tamarind lemongrass dipping sauce
- Goi Cuon: Cold Summer rolls with shrimp, rice vermicelli, lettuce, bean sprouts, aromatic herbs in soft rice paper and peanut plum dipping sauce
- Goi Ga:Red and green cabbage salad with pulled chicken, Texas pink grapefruit, red onion, mint, cilantro, roasted peanuts and chili garlic vinaigrette, served on taro chip
- Cha Gio:Crispy rice paper spring rolls of shrimp, pork and Asian mushrooms with lettuce, aromatic herbs and chili lime dipping sauce
- Five Spice Frites: Vietnamese-style frieswith spicy aioli dipping sauce
Spring-forward cocktails include ($8):
- Red Buffalo: Belvedere, muddled strawberries, Thai basil and Thai chili
- Ginger Blossom: Glenmorangie 10 year, fresh lemon juice and honey water, topped with shaved ginger
- Crimson Crush: Belvedere grapefruit, St.Germaine, grapefruit juice and topped with sprite
- Passion: Belvedere passion mango, passion fruit juice and lime
