HOLLYWOOD – I feel a goofy parent moment coming on. I suddenly have the urge to dress my kids up – and myself, too – and take them to watch the “Wizard of Oz” in honor of the movie’s 75th anniversary.
There is nothing like having the opportunity to see this movie on the big screen. I never had the opportunity because this came out before my time so I, like so many of us, have only enjoyed it on television. Well, that is about to change this weekend!
Marking the anniversary, the film is being released again Friday at various theaters.
The movie classic was honored at the same famous Chinese theater where it made its original debut. Back then, the film barely broke even, earning just $3 million. It cost $2 million to make.
The movie will only be in theaters for one week, so don’t miss it!
