HOUSTON — David and Tamela Mann, of Tyler Perry’s hit TV show “Meet the Browns,” made a stop in Houston as part of their “Family Reunion Concert Tour” Saturday, December 8.
Fans got a chance to actually meet and greet “The Browns” at The Kingdom Builders Center, enjoying “Mr. Brown’s” comedic quips and “Cora Brown’s” amazing vocals.
A Texas native, David Mann (Mr. Brown) masterfully showcases his God-given talents in today’s most dynamic and distinguished genre. Ingeniously funny and extraordinarily talented are understatements when it comes to the multifaceted actor who won the 2011 NAACP Award winner for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series for his role on the television show.
Mann said he realized he could make everyone laugh when he was just a kid fooling around in the fourth grade.
“It’s been downhill ever since,” he said.
Tamela Mann is an acclaimed actress, NAACP Image Award nominee, Dove Award-winning vocalist, in addition to being a wife and mother. She performed songs from her third studio album “Best Days,” which debuted at number one on the gospel charts.
Nominated for a Grammy for her hit single “Take Me to The King,” produced by fellow gospel artist Kirk Franklin, Tamela Mann told Houston fans she believes God sent that song to Franklin for her.
“This song is saying so many things that a lot of us are thinking without saying and we have to know, after all, God is still in control,” she said.
The Manns told the audience that, as believers, you will always win.
“There’s still food and water in the valley, even though there’s sometimes valley experiences; there not always bad,” Tamela Mann said.
