If you’re looking for something that feeds your soul, inspires your voice, and connects you to a greater purpose, The Movement Festival (TMF) might just be your new favorite weekend experience.

Launching May 22–25 and produced by KDITC (Kay Davis In The Community), TMF is more than just a four-day festival. It’s a celebration of culture, justice, and the power of community to come together, heal, and rise.

Created for the Culture, Powered by Purpose

The Movement Festival was born out of the global call for justice following the tragic death of Houston native George Floyd. It’s designed to turn that pain into power—through creativity, conversation, and collective joy.

“This festival is about creating space to reflect, uplift, and unite,” said Dannette Davis, founder of KDITC. “Through powerful storytelling, culture, and community, we’re bringing people together to continue the movement toward equality, creativity, and healing.”

A Vibe for Every Type of Woman

Whether you’re here for the fashion, the music, the spiritual recharge, or the mission—you’ll find your place at TMF. Here’s a peek at what’s in store:

  • Thursday, May 22: Kick off with The Report Card Public Forum at the Third Ward Multi-Purpose Center (10 a.m. – 1 p.m.). National political voice Tezlyn Figaro brings the fire, followed by a live performance of the powerful play BREATHE.
  • Friday, May 23: Foodies and fun-lovers unite at 4501 Almeda Food Truck Park for an evening of eats, beats, and community celebration.
  • Saturday, May 24: Time to pull out your chic whites for En Blanc in the Park—an elegant picnic-style experience. Then stay for the Concert on the Hill (ticketed), a night of music under the stars.
  • Sunday, May 25: Wrap it all up with a spiritual boost. The Gospel Celebration features radio host Marcus D. Wiley and a live performance by gospel legend Tramaine Hawkins.

For the Woman Who Does It All

Whether you’re an artist, an entrepreneur, a student, or just someone trying to finding their lane—TMF is a reminder that your voice, your culture, and your joy matter. It’s a space to connect, reflect, and reset with people who are just as passionate about healing and hope as you are.
