Attention Harry Potter fans! The Houston Symphony will delight fans of the Harry Potter franchise with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert July 21-22 as part of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series.

The Houston Symphony will celebrate Mardi Gras family-style with performances of Mardi Gras Menagerie! at 10 and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Jones Hall. The jazzy, fun-filled celebration will be led by Associate Conductor Robert Franz.

The Houston Symphony is bringing holiday cheer to movie buffs and fans of Frank Capra’s great American Christmas classic “It’s a Wonderful Life” with a screening of the film accompanied by the film’s score performed live by the orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9.

The Bill Cosby performance at Jones Hall scheduled for January 24, 2015, has been canceled by mutual agreement with the intent to reschedule in a future season. No new date has been announced. This comes almost immediately after famed supermodel Beverly Johnson has joined the list of more than two dozen women who claim Cosby has either sexually assaulted and/or drugged them.

FREE ENTERTAINMENT! The entire community is invited as the Houston Symphony welcomes its 15th music director, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, for the start of his inaugural season with a weekend celebration of music.

Houston Symphony welcomes the return of soloist and piano superstar Emanuel Ax, under the baton of Houston favorite Hannu Lintu,for three performances at Jones Hall on February 13, 15 and 16.
