SAN ANTONIO – July 5, 2017 – Whataburger is upping the breakfast game with the new Spicy Strawberry Chicken and Sausage Biscuits, now available from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. for a limited time. If you’re looking to kick-start your morning or curb a late-night craving, the new Spicy Strawberry Jam is sure to get your taste buds going.
The one-of-a-kind Spicy Strawberry Jam in the biscuit sandwiches combines diced and pureed strawberries with a light hint of jalapeño for a unique and bold flavor. The Spicy Strawberry Chicken Biscuit is made with a juicy, breaded chicken strip served on a warm buttermilk biscuit, topped with the new Spicy Strawberry Jam. The Spicy Strawberry Sausage Biscuit features the same build, with a sausage patty instead of chicken. Fans can also substitute the buttermilk biscuit for a Jalapeno Cheddar Biscuit.
“With the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit being a fan favorite and the overwhelming positive reception in taste tests on the new jam, these new Spicy Strawberry Biscuits will be a big hit with customers,” said Whataburger Vice President of Marketing and Innovation Rich Scheffler. “We’re pleased to offer a sweet and savory combination to satisfy breakfast and late-night cravings.”
The Spicy Strawberry Chicken and Sausage Biscuits are available as a meal or a la carte from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. for a limited time. Pricing varies by market.
Whataburger has focused on its fresh, made-to-order burgers and friendly customer service since 1950 when Harmon Dobson opened the first Whataburger as a small roadside burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas. Dobson gave his restaurant a name he hoped to hear customers say every time they took a bite of his made-to-order burgers: “What a burger!” Within the first week, people lined up around the block for his 25-cent, 100-percent beef burgers served on five-inch buns. Today, the company is headquartered in San Antonio, with more than 800 locations in 10 states with sales of more than $2 billion annually. Visit www.whataburger.com for more information.
