GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio  – “Please, please, please” return my daddy’s cape!

James Brown’s daughter is suing an Ohio tailor company over a “signature cape” the Godfather of Soul never got to wear.  Brown’s daughter will be facing the tailors, Curtis and Marilyn Gibson, in a Cleveland-area small claims court on Friday, according to the Plain Dealer Newspaper.

Deanna Brown Thomas said the tailors ignored repeated requests for the silver cape, which was made for the legendary singer before he died in 2006.

Brown’s daughter said after the Gibsons refused, she decided to sue as a last resort.

Thomas says she wants to place her father’s costumes in a museum and paid the Gibsons $7,000 to release the cape.
