HOUSTON—Got the need for speed?  Well, a few youngsters had it!  Thanks to Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson, a dozen needy Houston children got to whiz around a toy store and scoop some loot that Santa can now wipe off the list.

As part of his annual charity event, Johnson – who wears the #80 jersey—gave children 80 seconds to run around Toys R Us, filling their baskets with as much as they could.  The kids, who were all a part of Children’s Protective Services, had some help from the Texans cheerleaders to help snatch and steer.  They got everything from dolls to iPads, and all kids were given an entertainment gaming system.

And at the end of it all, Johnson graciously picked up the tab, which totaled $17,300.

This was the seventh year Johnson hosted the event.

BUT WAIT!!!

Johnson’s day of giving did not stop there.  He also gave the Houston Police Department’s “Blue Santa” charity a $7,500 donation.
